One Year Later

#WOW. 366 days ago I posted this on Facebook:

“In the last 10 days we drove 1300km. Preached twice. Got broken into and robbed. Announced a new ministry position for ’13. Kid breaks out in sores. New pup’s life taken by a snake. Plus other stuff I can’t mention. Despite these things, thanksgiving, peace and joy abound in Christ. It’s going to be a powerful year! “

Well it was a powerful year and I can testify that, in contrast, this years transition to the new year has been packed with blessings and ease. By God’s grace and power we did a lot of praying, contenting, delivering and curse-breaking in 2013 and the fruit is great! Did we earn it? No. It’s the loving finished work of Christ made manifest. Did it take effort? Yes. e.g Forgiving. Repenting. Restitution. Reconciling. Reckoning to the cross. Standing and anchoring our hope beyond the veil. Was it hard? Yeah, a lot of things were difficult to see, stand against and journey through. Worth it? Totally

If you want change, healing and breakthrough – go after God and get honest with Him. Stop playing games. Seek transformation. Desire genuine reconciliation with God, yourself, others and life.

Dallas Willard, a respected author who was promoted to the Father this year said this, and I love it; ““Grace is not opposed to effort, it is opposed to earning. Earning is an attitude. Effort is an action. Grace, you know, does not just have to do with forgiveness of sins alone.”

I must add:
The best is yet to come.
because we’ve only really begun,
too see the works of God,
in our generation.
