Do you like my heading? Catchy huh?
When every I read headings like that I wonder, “If they are millionaires, why are they wasting their time promoting their seminar/book/course?”
I mean, if you are a millionaire, why bother going to all the trouble of telling other people how they can do the same?
Authors – wanting to show you how they made millions out of self-publishing. (Just buy their book)
Bloggers – carrying on about how they don’t work anymore and just blog and make millions out of adsense, amazon and other ads. (name 5 who have made it!)
Stockmarket traders – selling you their $20,000 course showing you how they don’t work more than 2 hours a day! (besides all the travel associated with collection $20k from attendees!)
You know what though, I think these people were most likely NOT millionaires BUT have tapped into the lucrative market of millionaire wannabes – so that they might have a chance of becoming millionaires.
Who wants to be a millionare? An instant gameshow hit because most of the population does want to be a millionaire… and they want it the easy way… and are willing to pay (I mean invest) in shortcuts.
We all wish there were easy shortcuts, but there are not. Interestingly though, it’s said that around 80% of middle class millionaires got to where they are financially by having their own businesses – which makes sense because how else can you safely increase your money making capabilities? Good news for smart business owners in the right industries!
Many of us know the type of people who jump from scheme-to-scheme and course-to-course and seminar-to-seminar looking for the secret. They are often as flaky with their friendship commitments and loyalty as they are with their business commitments and loyalty. And, I believe, that’s where much of their problems lie…relationships.
If you can’t keep and build good relationships with people from all walks of life, you seriously narrow your chance of financial wealth. And I’m not just referring to relationships-for-a-business-reason but relationships in general. Whether you have anything to gain from the relationship financially or not, it’s important that you make efforts to become ‘soul-rich’ through good friendships.
There is much to be said about the well-being of a person’s soul in relation to their bank account. The better you can separate the two, the better opportunity they both have to grow. By that I mean, if your bank account is low, don’t be. I prefer to live by the wisdom that says, “First, let your soul prosper – then give room for your bank account / business / career to flourish.”
It’s interesting to note that most millionaires were happy before they had the cash… and most of them are still happy!
Who wants to be a soulionaire?
